Salary Range: $87,000 - $133,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Detroit region seeking Logistics Managers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates - not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Usual Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse and logistics staff and set daily work priorities.
• Resolve delivery delays, damaged shipments, and supplier issues.
• Maintain compliance with safety, import, and export regulations.
• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to meet production and customer needs.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and third party logistics providers.
• Track inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies in warehouse records.
• Manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities to reduce freight spend.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience negotiating freight rates and managing carrier relationships.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with inventory and cost reporting.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a small team.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
• Five or more years of logistics or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of transportation management and warehouse management systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS or similar supply chain certification.
• Experience with international shipping and customs compliance.
• Familiarity with lean or continuous improvement methods.
• Background in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Bilingual communication skills for supplier and carrier contacts.
