We are seeking a hands-on
Logistics Manager to oversee production planning, inventory control, material availability, warehouse coordination, and customer delivery performance in a manufacturing environment.
This position is ideal for an experienced logistics professional with strong ERP, scheduling, shipping, inventory, and automotive-manufacturing experience. You will work closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Finance, suppliers, and warehouse staff to help ensure materials are available, production plans align with customer demand, and deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
What Youll Do
Manage logistics operations including materials planning, inventory control, warehouse coordination, shipping, and customer deliveries.
Analyze customer demand, inventory levels, production capacity, and machine availability to support production schedules.
Coordinate with Production and Operations to ensure production plans meet customer requirements.
Procure and coordinate raw materials, packaging materials, and supplies to prevent production interruptions.
Ensure accurate product labeling, shipping documentation, EDI transactions, and on-time customer shipments.
Monitor logistics performance, inventory accuracy, customer service levels, and material usage; identify and implement improvement actions.
Coordinate monthly physical inventory activities.
Support ERP processes for inventory, production planning, shipping, and related logistics activities.
Troubleshoot logistics-related equipment and systems, including printers and barcode scan guns.
Supervise, assign, and support daily work for logistics coordinators and warehouse clerks.
Coordinate and oversee dock audits and participate in quality audits as needed.
Support compliance with IATF 16949 requirements and all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Participate in operational improvement projects and support plans to address supply-chain or production disruptions.
Travel between the main facility and warehouse as needed.
What You BringRequired Qualifications
35 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, materials planning, supply chain, or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
Experience using an ERP system for inventory management, production scheduling, shipping, or materials planning.
Experience coordinating inventory, customer orders, shipments, and material availability.
Strong computer and spreadsheet skills.
Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, Operations, Finance, and suppliers.
Reliable transportation for travel between local facilities as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Regular, reliable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field.
Automotive manufacturing experience.
Experience with EDI systems and IATF 16949 requirements.
Prior experience leading logistics, warehouse, or inventory-control team members.
Work Environment & Physical RequirementsThis role works in both office and manufacturing/warehouse settings. The position requires frequent computer use, communication with employees and suppliers, and the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, drive, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Employees may be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, moving equipment, dust, fumes, slippery surfaces, and other workplace hazards. Required safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed at all times.
