    About the role

    The Axle claims department is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to fill the role of Claims Processor. This motivated candidate will be responsible for utilizing critical thinking to manage the risk process for optimal customer payout and minimal loss to Axle. This position will require maintaining detailed documentation of claim communication, organization of initial information, and concise recordkeeping.  This person will be integral to helping the team by maintaining claim details for tracking, monitoring and reporting.


    What you'll do

    • Ensuring all claims are received and submitted in a timely manner with appropriate follow-up on missing information as well as the investigation of needed information.
    • Compiling information for notification of claims to carriers and insurance and performing regular follow-ups with adjusters, carriers and providing updates to customers.
    • Reviewing claim submissions and verifying the information.
    • Overseeing data entry and documentation for each claim until its completion.
    • Assessing next steps in the process based on values and information provided.
    • Processing claim payments.
    • Complying with federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
    • Performing other clerical tasks, as required.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED
    • At least 2 years of experience as a claims processor or in a related role.
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to correspond with adjusters, customers and carriers professionally
    • Organizational mindset
    • Working knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant federal and state regulations (familiarity with freight industry a plus)
    • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
    • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
    • Good administrative and organizational skills.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • High attention to detail.
