Description
SAIC is searching for a Prototype Development Coordinator in Indianapolis, IN. The Prototype Development Coordinator is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the production process of prototypes. This position combines project management, technical expertise, and coordination skills to ensure that prototypes are produced efficiently, meet design specifications, and adhere to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Contractable Delivery Development:
- Track the development Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Implement a systematic process to continuously monitor and update procurement orders in alignment with the latest engineering changes to ensure parts accuracy and relevancy.
- Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of future initiatives.
Material Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and analyze material data to ensure that necessary materials are available to support development, production, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of material availability and usage.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including project charters, status reports, and final deliverables.
Supply Issue Coordination and Resolution:
- Coordinate and resolve supply issues to support products in both development and sustainment phases.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to address and resolve supply chain challenges.
- Manage and coordinate the efforts of project teams, including assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of work.
Program Status Meetings:
- Attend all program status meetings and present any issues related to the supply chain.
- Act as a liaison between various stakeholders including military personnel, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Provide regular updates and reports on supply chain status to program managers and stakeholders.
- Organize and lead project meetings to track progress, discuss issues, and make decisions.
- Provide regular updates and detailed reports on project status, including any risks or issues to senior management and other relevant parties.
Work Environment:
- This position may require occasional travel to support program requirements.

- The role will primarily be based in an office environment with some time spent in production or warehouse settings as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and six (6) years or more experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in supply chain management or a related role.
- Proficiency in MS Office software and experience with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understanding of Engineering Drawings.
- Experience with Change Control processes.
- Previous experience in a procurement/material coordinator/project analyst type role.
- Familiarity with engineering and technical tools used in prototype development and testing.
- Ability to work within a small team.
- Ability to stay extremely organized with a high sense of urgency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in supporting government programs.
- Knowledge of government contracts and agreements and how policies interact with the supply chain.
- Department of Defense (DOD) background.
- Expertise in developing and managing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Clearance:
- Candidate must be able to obtain a full Secret clearance.
