LOCUM- Cardiovascular PA This request is for an APP, preferably with thoracic surgery assist experience. Locums Providence Cancer Institute Thoracic ______________________________________________________________ SCHEDULE " Coverage Type: Inpatient and Outpatient " Schedule Type: Clinic and Call " Call Type: 24-Hour Beeper Call Call is beeper call, however, you work during the day and then are on beeper call at night. During the weekends you come in and round and then carry the beeper outside the hospital once the in house work is complete. 1:4 call frequency. So roughly one day per week and one weekend per month (weekends are Friday 7a - Monday 7a) " Schedule (per week): M-F Weekend Call ( 4 10's) " Dates of Need: March 1st, 2027 - August 31st, 2027 " Shift Times: 8am -5pm " Lunch N/A " Provider Min # Shifts Required: Full Time 35-40 hours per week " Guaranteed Hours per Day: 10 " Hours Worked for OT to apply: 11 " Rates to be Filled Out on Bid: 24 Hour Beeper Call: Orientation, 24 Hour Call, Call-Back. o Usually, 2 days in outpatient clinic and 2 days in the OR o Primarily works PCI West (PSVMC) o Inpatient rounding on hospitalized patients is shared amongst the current three APPs " Need a locum that is flexible to travel between hospitals and clinics and is a good communicator and team player Credentialing can take 90-120 days - can be sooner if locums if applicant engagement is prompt. ________________________________________________________________ CREDENTIALING " Current CV Must be uploaded to bid " License: Active only " DEA Required: Yes " Boards: Certified, if not within 5 years or residency. " Skills/Certs: BLS, ACLS " Other: Specialty in Cardiovascular and Thoracic We will look at multiple providers to fill the schedule if needed. It would be ideal for the candidate to have at least 5 years of recent experience in CV surgery, but this is not required and we will look at any candidates interested. o Takes a minimum of 10 days of call per month This includes at least one weekend per month Call is all day long o APPs take all calls, except new consultations or calls from the ED route directly to the surgeon on call Will triage and escalate to surgeons as needed, usually don t need to go in-person to the hospital when on-call these are mostly handled over the phone OR Duties: o First assist certified o Thoracic experience preferred o Caseload 60%-70% VATS (open surgeries) / 30%-40% robotics o Most surgeries at PPMC o Some surgeries and procedures in the MPU (Minor Procedures Unit) at PSVMC Vein harvest with Maquet equipment and open radial or harmonic scalpel technique are other skills they will be looking for. OT will need to be preapproved if there is any. Guaranteed hours should be 40 hours per week. OT would then apply after 40 hours per week with preapproval.
