    • ASAP ongoing
    • Potential for extension

    Shifts:

    • Monday Friday
    • Typically 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
    • Eight-hour shifts with occasional extended coverage based on the OR schedule

    Call:

    • Call requirements may vary based on facility needs
    • Potential evening, weekend, or beeper call
    • No routine OB call anticipated

    Setting:

    • Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Virginia
    • Primarily operating room coverage
    • Adult and geriatric patient population
    • Medically complex patients with multiple comorbidities

    Census:

    • Approximately 4 6 surgical cases per day
    • Volume may vary depending on case complexity

    Support Staff:

    • Collaborative anesthesia care team
    • CRNAs, anesthesia technicians, registered nurses, and surgical support staff
    • CRNA supervision may be required

    Procedures:

    • General anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, and regional anesthesia
    • Preoperative evaluations and postoperative pain management
    • Airway management and peripheral nerve blocks
    • Bread-and-butter surgical cases, including:
      • General Surgery
      • Orthopedics
      • Urology
      • ENT
      • Ophthalmology
      • Gastroenterology
      • Vascular Surgery
    • No obstetrics or pediatric cases

    Board Certification:

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
    • Board certification preferred

    Travel:

    • Facility will cover approved travel and lodging expenses

    Credentialing Timeline:

    • Approximately 60 90 days
    • Expedited onboarding may be available for candidates with clean files

    Requirements:

    • Active, unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
    • Active DEA registration
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency
    • Ability to obtain and maintain VA clinical privileges
    • Successful completion of federal background screening and credentialing
    • Previous VA experience preferred but not required
