Assignment Details

Compensation
Schedule
- 3-4 Shifts Per Week
- Shift Options: 6:30 AM-4:30 PM or 6:30 AM-6:30 PM
- Daily Shift Standard: 12 Hours
- Schedule Expected to Include at Least 2 Weekdays Plus Weekend Coverage
- Clinic Hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 9:30 AM-4:30 PM
- Clinic Schedule May Be Covered by the Regular Team if Needed
- No Call
Patient Population / Volume
- Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Patients
- Approximately 18 Patients Per Day
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Coverage
- Respond to Trauma Activations
- May Serve as Initial Trauma Responder if the Trauma Surgeon Is in the Operating Room
- Provide Initial Evaluation and Response in the Emergency Department
- Perform Inpatient Rounding
- Admit Patients to the Trauma / Acute Care Surgery Service
- Manage Admissions Including ICU Patients
- Provide Surgical First Assist
- Prepare for and Manage Post-Discharge Clinic
- Provide Outpatient Post-Discharge Follow-Up as Scheduled
- May Work Independently at Times

- APC Support May Be Available on Some Days

Requirements
- Physician Assistant - Required
- At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Trauma / Acute Care Surgery - Required
- Washington License Not Required at Time of Submission
- Candidates Requiring Licensure May Be Considered
- BLS - Required
- ACLS - Required
- ATLS - Required
- BLS and ACLS Must Be From the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, as Applicable
- Epic Proficiency - Required
- COVID-19 Vaccination - Required, No Exemptions
- Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Experience - Required
Recent Clinical Activity Requirements
- Documentation of Recent Clinical Activity From the Previous 24 Months - Required
- Recent Clinical Activity Must Be Representative of the Scope and Complexity of Privileges Requested
- Requirement May Be Waived for Candidates Who Completed Training Within the Previous Year
