The ideal candidate will have at least two years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience and be comfortable serving as a primary covering provider for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced, dynamic critical care environment.

- Care for patients receiving VA/VV extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Apply appropriate ICU procedural knowledge and skills as clinically required; the role is primarily focused on patient management rather than procedures.
- Occasionally manage adults with congenital heart disease who require medical or post-operative care.
- Provide coverage for PICU boarder patients with a variety of critical care needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient status, develop treatment plans, and respond to changes in clinical condition.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of complex congenital heart disease, cardiac anatomy, and physiology.
- Successful completion of an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active New York State Physician Assistant license in good standing.
- Current national PA certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, as specified by the employer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric Acute Care Physician Assistant certification.
- Experience managing high-acuity pediatric cardiac surgical patients.
- Familiarity with ECMO, CRRT, pacemakers, arrhythmias, and advanced hemodynamic support.
