Job Description

 We are seeking two experienced Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to support its inpatient cardiology service. This opportunity is ideal for APPs with strong inpatient and outpatient cardiology experience who enjoy working alongside physicians on hospital rounds and coordinating patient care.

The role primarily focuses on inpatient cardiology rounding, follow-up care, discharge instructions, and post-procedure management. No procedural skills are required.
 

Schedule

  • 7 days on / 7 days off
  • Approximately 2 weeks per month
  • Sunday–Saturday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • No overnight shifts
  • No routine on-call responsibilities
  • Must be available to accommodate the full 7-on/7-off rotation

Practice Highlights

  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Approximately 80% inpatient / 20% outpatient
  • Daily volume of approximately 20–25 patients on the inpatient list
  • Work alongside physicians on inpatient cardiology rounds
  • Level II trauma center
  • Teaching/leadership responsibilities may be included

Responsibilities

  • Participate in inpatient cardiology rounds alongside physicians.
  • Manage follow-up patients on the inpatient cardiology service.
  • Provide discharge instructions and coordinate discharge planning.
  • Manage post-procedure patient care and follow-up.
  • Support continuity of care for adult and geriatric patients.
  • Document patient encounters and care plans in Epic.

Requirements

  • Board-certified APP — required.
  • Minimum 3 years of cardiology experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings — required.
  • Active Michigan license at the time of name clearance — required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association — required.
  • Clean background with no malpractice history or medical license issues — mandatory.
  • Acute care training — preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR — preferred.
  • Must be able to commit to the 7-on/7-off schedule.

Eligible Credentials: Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Additional License/Certification Requirements: Michigan license, BLS, ACLS, and DEA.
