Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a 13-week locum tenens assignment at an acute care hospital in Potsdam, New York. The primary need is overnight anesthesia coverage, with two scheduling options available to accommodate provider availability.

This opportunity is ideal for CRNAs comfortable working in a rural, critical access hospital setting and providing anesthesia services across general surgery and obstetrics.

Schedule Options

Option 1 – Overnight Shifts (Primary Need)

Three consecutive 12-hour overnight shifts.
Shift hours: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
Six overnight shifts within a two-week period.
Providers may select three nights between Monday and Thursday.
No daytime coverage required.

Option 2 – Day Shift + Overnight Home Call

Day shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
Home call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM.
Work Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Post-call days off: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Coverage: Scheduled shifts plus on-call responsibilities are required.

Compensation

Hourly Pay: $200–$210/hour

Additional call, callback, overtime, holiday, and orientation compensation should be confirmed according to the final assignment terms.

Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia services for inpatient procedures.
Support obstetric anesthesia cases, including epidural placement.
Provide general anesthesia for scheduled surgeries.
Participate in overnight anesthesia coverage.
Respond to call requirements as scheduled.
Provide appropriate anesthesia care in a rural, critical access hospital.
Potentially supervise other CRNAs, as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Active New York State license in hand; new licensing is not available for this assignment.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
Epic experience required.
Comfortable providing overnight coverage in a rural, critical access setting.
Board-certified candidates preferred; board-eligible candidates may be considered.
