What You’ll Do
- Provide primary care services to detainees, including physical assessments and follow-ups
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across all age groups, including females' health and prenatal care
- Conduct daily rounds and coordinate care with healthcare staff
- Respond to medical emergencies supervised within facility protocols
- Review and approve specialist referrals and outside consultations
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Support facility health initiatives and performance improvement activities
What You Need
- Valid medical license in Louisiana and current DEA registration
- BLS or equivalent certification
- At least 1 year of professional medical experience, preferably in correctional or detention facilities
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and cultural competence
- Ability to work independently with high ethical standards
