What Youll Do
- Provide OB/GYN hospital and call coverage.
- See approximately 20 clinic patients during applicable coverage days.
- Perform cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries.
- Perform suction D&C procedures.
- Evaluate and manage ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding.
- Respond to patient calls and provide coverage for labor and delivery services.
- Document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record.
What You Need
Required- OB/GYN physician qualifications appropriate for locum coverage.
- Ability to provide 24-hour hospital call coverage and clinic care.
- Ability to perform the procedures and manage the conditions listed above.
- Clean professional background may support temporary approval while credentialing is completed.
Preferred- Local availability in the Petersburg, VA area.
- Experience in a hospital-based OB/GYN practice.
About the Assignment
Join a collaborative OB/GYN practice with labor and delivery and postpartum services. The care team includes OB hospitalist support, surgical assistants, and three to four nurses per shift. High-risk patients are generally managed with maternal-fetal medicine support, while laborist services assist with hospital deliveries and rounding. Credentialing may take 6090 days, with temporary approval potentially available for qualified providers.
