What Youll Do
- Provide inpatient OB/GYN call coverage.
- Perform routine vaginal deliveries, including low-forceps deliveries.
- Evaluate patients and make decisions regarding cesarean sections.
- Manage complicated deliveries, including breech presentations, multiple births, abruptions, and cesarean sections.
- Provide care for patients attempting VBACs.
- Repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations.
- Provide required GYN call coverage and complete documentation in EPIC.
What You Need
Required- Physician qualified to provide OB/GYN coverage.
- Ability to perform the listed obstetric and gynecologic duties.
- Availability for 24-hour call coverage.
- Ability to complete documentation in EPIC.
Preferred- Experience providing inpatient or hospital-based OB/GYN coverage.
About the Assignment
This assignment supports the labor and delivery department of a leading facility in Paducah, Kentucky. The hospital-based setting includes onsite laboratory and ultrasound services, a Level II nursery, daily midwife coverage, and approximately 700800 deliveries annually. The average patient volume is 16 patients per day, with approximately 140190 labor and delivery triage visits per month.
