Position Overview

HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a short-term locum tenens opportunity in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

The physician will primarily provide outpatient Hematology/Oncology care with limited inpatient consultation responsibilities. This is an attractive short-term assignment offering a consistent weekday schedule with no call, no code response and no Emergency Department backup responsibilities.

• Orientation immediately before the assignment

Responsibilities

Provide screening, evaluation and treatment of Hematology/Oncology patients in an ambulatory setting, manage appropriate treatment plans and ongoing cancer care, perform bone marrow biopsies, and provide consultation for hospitalized patients requiring Hematology/Oncology expertise.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Appropriate North Carolina medical license
• DEA as required
• Ability to obtain hospital privileges
• Proficiency with bone marrow biopsies
• Outpatient Hematology/Oncology experience
• Comfortable providing inpatient consultation
• Availability for the requested November coverage
