Outpatient Hem/Onc | 4-Day Schedule | Call Rotation

365 Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a locum opportunity in Waterbury, Connecticut. This assignment provides a balanced mix of outpatient Hematology/Oncology coverage with limited inpatient call responsibilities within a collaborative oncology program.

This is an excellent short-term opportunity supporting a maternity leave coverage need from September through December 2026.

Schedule Model

• Outpatient clinic schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Clinic hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Evening and weekend call rotation required
• Weekend call: Friday 4:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Call ratio: approximately 1:3

Coverage Needed

• September – December 2026
• 4-day outpatient clinic coverage
• Ongoing shared call responsibilities

Practice Overview

• Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient consult coverage
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Hematology: approximately 60%
• Oncology: approximately 40%
• EMR: Epic
• Level II Trauma Center

Clinical Responsibilities

• Outpatient Hematology/Oncology evaluations and treatment
• Inpatient consults and rounding as needed
• Participation in tumor board discussions
• Ordering tests, imaging, and treatment plans
• Chemotherapy management in collaboration with oncology nursing staff
• Shared evening and weekend call coverage

Practice Environment

• Collaborative oncology practice with physician and APP support
• 3-physician Hem/Onc team
• 2 APPs supporting the practice
• Radiation Oncology support available onsite
• Average outpatient volume: approximately 15–16 patients per day

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Active Connecticut license required at submission
• BLS certification
• Local providers strongly preferred
• Clean malpractice and background history
