Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Gastroenterologist to provide urgent December coverage at St. Anthony Hospital for their Gastroenterology team. Candidates must possess experience with ERCP and EUS procedures. This position involves inpatient care, including scope, ERCP, EUS, GI bleed evaluation, and management of GI problems. The provider will be integrated into a Level 1 Trauma center with 24/7 trauma services and hospitalist support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform endoscopic procedures including ERCP and EUS
- Evaluate and manage patients presenting with GI-related issues
- Support medical staff with consultative services for adult and geriatric patients
- Adhere to scheduled shifts, ending daily at 7 am the following morning
- Participate in ongoing on-call rotations, including 24-hour call and holiday coverage
Schedule & Availability:
- Duration: 5-7 days per month, ongoing through 2025 and beyond
- Shifts: 24-hour call, 7 am to 7 am
- Specific dates: June 26-28, August 2026, and ongoing dates pending fill
- Average callback hours: Weekdays 11.63 hours; Weekends 10.38 hours
Compensation & Benefits:
- On-Call (Daily): $5,200 - $5,600 per 24-hour period (inclusive of 8 hours gratis)
- 24-Hour Holiday Call Rate: $7,800 - $8,400 (inclusive of 8 hours gratis)
- Call Back (after gratis hours): $525 - $550 per patient contact hour
- Holiday Call Back: $787.50 - $825 per holiday hour of patient contact
- Orientation Stipend: $262.50 - $275, payable after 8 hours of orientation/training
- Malpractice coverage included in rates
- Paid sick time per applicable laws
- Licensure, certification, travel reimbursements, and other applicable reimbursements provided
Credentialing & Training Requirements:
- Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days; emergency privileges in 1-2 weeks with a clean file
- Pre-application and full application submissions must be completed promptly, including NPDB report, Colorado license or IMLC, and credentialing with other facilities if applicable
- EMR training: Complete pre-requirements, modules, and virtual EMR training at least one week prior to start
- Provider must submit EPIC experience details, travel preferences, and identification photos for badge creation
Travel & Lodging Preferences:
- Candidates must stay at designated hotels (Sheraton Denver West, Hampton Inn, Sonesta Simply Suites, Towne Place Suites, Fairfield Inn), requesting pre-negotiated rates
- Local or drive-in preferred; specify travel city in application
- Anticipated travel exceptions must be disclosed upfront
