Our client in Virginia is actively seeking a skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment, commencing Nov 16, 2026. This vital role involves providing comprehensive urgent care services, managing a diverse caseload during 8 AM to 8 PM shifts. The practitioner will be responsible for proficiently handling laceration repair, foreign body removal, minor burn management, and various orthopedic and injury stabilization techniques. Duties also include diagnostic assessments, such as X-ray and EKG interpretation, point-of-care lab analysis, and emergency stabilization for conditions like epistaxis and airway support.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Laceration Repair: Simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
- Incision and drainage (I&D): including packing
- Foreign Body Removal
- Minor Burn Management
- Skin Lesion Care
- Orthopedic & Injury Stabilization
- Splinting & Casting
- Joint Reduction
- Diagnostic & Point-of-Care Testing
- X-Ray Interpretation
- Electrocardiogram (EKG): Evaluation
- Point-of-Care Lab Interpretation: Reviewing rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
- Epistaxis Management: Anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate) for nosebleeds
- Cerumen impaction removal
- Airway Support: Administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
