Position Overview

The Local Truck Driver is responsible for transporting freight between railyards and various customer locations within approximately a 250-mile radius of Mechanicville, New York. This is a local, no-touch freight position with drivers reporting to the Mechanicville ramp for each scheduled shift.

No New York City driving or deliveries are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport freight between local railyards and customer locations within a 250-mile radius of Mechanicville, NY.
• Pick up and deliver assigned intermodal freight safely and on schedule.
• Operate within designated local service areas.
• Follow all company, customer, DOT, railyard, and safety procedures.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
• Maintain professional communication with dispatch, customers, and onsite personnel.
• Maintain accurate transportation and delivery documentation.

Drivers will report to the ramp each scheduled workday at:

Mechanicville, NY 12118

Company trucks must remain at the ramp during scheduled time off and cannot be taken home.

Freight & Equipment Details

• No-touch freight. Drivers are not responsible for manually loading or unloading freight.
• Drivers will slip seat and may share equipment with other drivers.
• Drivers will operate between railyards and customer locations throughout the designated service area.
• No NYC routes or deliveries.
• Trucks must remain at the Mechanicville ramp during time off.

Uniform Requirements

Drivers are required to wear company-approved uniform shirts while working. Each driver will receive five uniform shirts upon hire.

Drivers will also receive a quarterly allotment for replacement uniform shirts.

PTO & Holiday Pay

The account offers a progressive paid-time-off program that increases based on years of service.

• New hire through first year: 18 total paid days off, consisting of 12 PTO days and 6 paid holidays. PTO and holiday pay is provided at a rate of $20 per hour.
• After 1 year through 5 years: 22 total paid days off, consisting of 16 PTO days and 6 paid holidays. Pay is based on the driver's 52-week average hourly earnings.
• 6–13 years: 27 total paid days off, consisting of 21 PTO days and 6 paid holidays.
• 14–18 years: 30 total paid days off, consisting of 24 PTO days and 6 paid holidays.
• 19+ years: 32 total paid days off, consisting of 26 PTO days and 6 paid holidays.

Holiday Schedule

Drivers should be aware of the following holiday work expectations:

• Thanksgiving: Drivers may be required to work.
• Christmas: Drivers are off.
• New Year's Day: Drivers may be required to work.
