Job Summary
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 A.M. until job is complete
The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods as directed by the company. This position plays a key role in representing the company through reliable service and customer interaction during deliveries and pickups. The Truck Driver must comply with all safety procedures, federal and state regulations, and company policies while maintaining high standards for vehicle operation and cleanliness. This position requires regular inspection of equipment, attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to customer service. The Truck Driver will operate only Flatbed trailers, 48 feet to 70 feet as well as Pneumatic trailers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Apply procedures using sound judgment based on direction, observation, and prior experience
Demonstrate working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating Principles
Safely operate a truck to assigned destinations
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and accurately complete condition reports
Maintain a clean and organized trailer ready for loading
Deliver outstanding customer service during all delivery and pickup operations
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and federal/state regulations
Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, dispatch, and customers
Respond promptly to accidents, incidents, or emergency situations
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle at all times
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and compliance requirements
Assist in mentoring and training new or less experienced personnel
Perform all duties in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Enter and exit vehicles as needed for fueling and inspections; must be able to walk around the truck and perform tasks in extreme weather conditions
Operate manual transmission vehicles (shift gears as required)
Work effectively as part of a team, follow directions, and take on additional responsibilities as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position and location. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have or must be able to obtain a Class A CDL drivers license
