About Patch
Patch is a network of hyperlocal news sites dedicated to delivering timely, relevant news that connects people with their communities. We're looking for a curious, tech-savvy content producer who can combine strong journalism fundamentals with modern AI tools to produce high-quality local news at scale.
About the Role
As an AI-Assisted Local News Content Producer, you'll be responsible for identifying, researching and publishing 16-20 quick-turn local news stories each day for Patch sites in California.
You'll use AI as a productivity tool to help draft stories, but strong news judgment and editing skills are essential in this role. You'll determine what is newsworthy, verify information, craft compelling headlines and ensure every story meets Patch's editorial standards.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, follows local news closely, embraces new technology and can work independently in a fast-paced digital environment.
