Position Details:

• Day will start in the warehouse helping to load the truck

• Delivering appliances, furniture, exercise equipment, patio furniture, etc. to customers'' homes, businesses, and building sites

• The delivery will include unloading and installation of equipment where applicable

• There are normally multiple deliveries per day

• This account delivers to multi-family sites which requires pulling heavy items up and down 5 flights of stairs without an elevator with the assistance of a dolly and helper.

• When delivering exercise equipment, drivers will use straps and team lifting techniques when moving furniture and will not be able to use the assistance of a dolly.

• Typically, there will be multiple deliveries per day

• Some stops may have returns to pick up.

Special Requirements:

• Please understand that this is a physically demanding position.

• Required to load and unload appliances and other heavy objects.

• Ability to lift products up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to move and maneuver products upwards of 600 lbs using proper tools and carts, manual conveyance assistance, team lifting techniques, and accommodation.

• Candidates should have experience working with dollies, lift gates, pallet jacks and ramps.

• Candidates should have the ability to work with tools, general assembly/installation experience and the ability to read and follow service manual instructions.

• Candidates should have the ability to crouch down and/or be on a ladder for extended periods when installing appliances

• Having prior local installation experience in metro areas would be a plus.

Additional Details:

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

• Training will include but is not limited to product familiarization, assembly & installation, straight-truck training, defensive driving, DOT regulations, customer service skills and various operations procedures.

• Driver should wear work pants/khakis with plain shirt and steel toe boots/shoes

• Uniforms are provided

• Training will be 3-4 weeks.

Our J.B. Hunt Final Mile Services business unit is comprised of various accounts that focus on delivery and home installation of varied items including but not limited to: Furniture, stoves, washers/dryers, refrigerators, microwaves, fitness equipment, patio furniture, etc.

In accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, qualified applicants for this driving position must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

Drivers on this local job will operate in a 200-mile radius of Fort Myers, FL.
