RN Unit Manager – 

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager
Setting: Rehabilitation / Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Job Type: 7 weeks Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to oversee daily nursing operations on a rehabilitation unit. The RN Unit Manager will supervise nursing staff, coordinate resident care, monitor clinical standards, and work closely with physicians, therapy teams, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the nursing unit.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and CNAs.
  • Assess residents and monitor changes in condition.
  • Ensure individualized care plans are developed, updated, and followed.
  • Administer medications and treatments as required.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, rehabilitation/therapy staff, and other departments.
  • Monitor documentation, medication administration, infection control, and patient safety.
  • Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, care conferences, and quality-improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and nursing standards.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, orientation, and performance management as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the applicable state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Previous rehabilitation, SNF, LTC, or post-acute care experience preferred.
  • Prior charge nurse, supervisory, or unit-management experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, clinical, and organizational skills.
