Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Locum Opportunity
Location: Kaiser Permanente – Fontana Medical Center, Fontana, CA
Specialty: Rheumatology – Nurse Practitioner / Adult Physician Assistant
Pay Rate: $100–$120/hr
Schedule: Part-Time | 20 Hours/Week
Duration: 1 Year | Starting February 2027, pending credentialing
Position Overview
Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner or Adult Physician Assistant to provide part-time clinic coverage at Fontana Medical Center. The provider will take over an existing Rheumatology NP's patient panel and manage ongoing rheumatology care.
Schedule
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 30-minute lunch on full-day shifts
- Total: 20 hours per week
- No call responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an established Rheumatology patient panel.
- Evaluate and treat patients with rheumatologic conditions.
- Develop and manage diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Perform Trigger Point Injections.
- Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up visits.
- Complete clinical documentation in Epic (Kaiser Health Connect).
- Manage inbox responsibilities, including patient messages and lab results.
Patient Volume
- Approximately 16 patients per day.
- 8 patients per 4-hour block.
- New consultations: 40 minutes.
- Follow-up appointments: 20 minutes.
Requirements
- Active California license.
- Board Certified NP or PA.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Strong, specific Rheumatology experience required.
- Experience with Rheumatology treatment plans and Trigger Point Injections.
- Epic / Health Connect experience preferred.
- Vaccination preferred; waivers will be considered.
