Talent4Health is seeking a local contract nurse RN Med Surg for a local contract nursing job in Decatur, Illinois.

Job Description & Requirements

Med Surg Neuro RN 

Basic Requirements

  • Specialty: Med Surg Neuro RN
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg Neuro experience required.
  • First-Time Traveler:Not Accepted
  • Illinois RN License:Active IL RN License required before submission
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NIHSS
  • Shift: 3x12 Days
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Float: Yes, within scope as needed
  • On-Call: No
  • Charting System:Cerner (Required)
  • Locals Accepted: Yes (No radius restriction)

Med/Surg Experience

  • Recent Med/Surg experience (Required)

Cardiac Monitoring

  • Remote Telemetry Monitoring
  • Rapid Response Team experience

GI Skills

  • Colostomy Care
  • Feeding Tube Care & Management

IV Therapy

  • Accessing Ports
  • Blood Product Administration
  • Central Line Blood Draws
  • Peripheral Line Care
  • PICC Line Management
  • Starting IVs

Medication Experience

  • Heparin
  • Insulin
  • PCA (Patient Controlled Analgesia)

Neuro Experience

  • CVA/Stroke
  • Pre/Post Neuro Surgery
  • Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Surgical Drains

Respiratory Skills

  • Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
  • CPAP/BiPAP
  • Nasal Cannula
  • Non-Invasive Airway Management
  • Oral Suctioning
  • Oxygen Face Masks
  • Portable Oxygen Tanks
  • Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery
  • Tracheostomy Management

Preferred Experience

  • Teaching Hospital experience
  • Level II Trauma experience
