Unit Description: 7EW Medical Observation is a 46 bed unit. Our patient population is primarily adult acute inpatient Med-Surg with observation status patients as well as overflow low-grade specialty patients. Electronic charting system is Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6 patients; more commonly it is 4-5 patients. Nursing assistants are a part of team staffing. They are Patient Care Technicians who are on 12 patient teams each. Teamwork and supporting each others growth are two very important aspects to the 7EW leadership team
