About the Position

Our client is seeking Local CDL A Route Drivers for a component-pay opportunity based in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. Drivers will deliver palletized freight to pharmacy stores throughout the region while operating automatic tractors and liftgate trailers.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $0.78 per mile, plus $30 per stop and detention pay
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,200–$1,800, with an estimated average of $1,600
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Start Time: Between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
• Hours per Week: 40
• Employment Type: Temp to perm

Job Details

• Route Type: Local routes
• Service Area: Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, and New Hampshire
• Freight: Palletized pharmacy store deliveries
• Equipment: Automatic tractors with 28-foot, 45-foot, and 48-foot trailers
• Handling: Liftgate deliveries using electric pallet jacks
• Typical Workday: 10 to 13 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CDL A tractor-trailer on local delivery routes.
• Transport and deliver palletized freight to pharmacy stores.
• Use liftgate trailers and electric pallet jacks to complete deliveries.
• Operate automatic tractors and trailers of varying lengths.
• Follow all applicable safety, transportation, and delivery procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid CDL A.
• 1+ year of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record, with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
