    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Loan Servicing Specialist supports the ongoing administration and servicing of the Bank’s loan portfolio by ensuring loan accounts and collateral records are accurately maintained throughout the life of the loan. This role is responsible for processing loan payments and disbursements, boarding and funding loans, maintaining collateral files, and supporting insurance and filing fee activities. The position also responds to routine customer and internal inquiries, resolves straightforward servicing issues, and escalates more complex matters as needed. Working within established procedures, the Loan Servicing Specialist helps support operational accuracy, regulatory compliance, data integrity, and a positive customer experience across Commercial, Ag, Consumer, and Mortgage loan portfolios.

    What will you do:

    Accountabilities

    Loan Collateral & Compliance Management

    Ensure accurate filing, tracking, maintenance, and release of loan collateral to protect the Bank’s lien position and support regulatory and servicing requirement across Commercial, Ag, Consumer, and Mortgage portfolios.

    • Follow established procedures to file UCC, title, and mortgage documents with the secretary of State and/or Register of Deeds via mail or online system (AccuAccount, Fiserv Premier and Vitu).
    • Follow established procedures to release of loan Collateral such as UCC, title and mortgage using external and internal systems (Vitu, AccuAccount, and Fiserv Premier software).
    • Arrange, administer, and maintain critical documents in vault.
    • Monitor timely receipt of critical loan documents and file them appropriately. Identify missing and/or incorrect documentation in loan files and report issues through proper channels.
    • Process homeowner insurance payments via Ascend, timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Responsibilities within this accountability may vary based on assigned focus and business needs.

    Loan Boarding & Funding Operations

    Accurately board and fund consumer and commercial transactions by transferring approved loan data from origination systems to the core platform and processing related payments, advances and disbursements, and adjustments to support effective loan servicing.

    • Onboard all consumer, commercial, Agricultural and mortgage loans from origination system (LaserPro and MortgageBot) to the core platform (Fiserv Premier) using the connector (ICC and Ground control).
    • Process loan payments, advances, wires and additional monetary transactions.
    • Responsibilities within this accountability may vary based on assigned focus and business needs.

    Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

    Support reliable end-to-end operations by coordinating work, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and consistent execution across dependencies, resolving issues, and ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent execution. Identify opportunities to improve process, reduce work and strengthen efficiency, quality and risk management.

    • Participate in cross-functional training to support all areas within the Loan Operations team.
    • Identify opportunities to improve loan documentation and review workflows by observing recurring issues, inefficiencies, or manual workarounds.
    • Follow established procedures and controls consistently, and raise potential risks, gaps, or process breakdowns through appropriate escalation channels.
    • Document errors, exceptions, or quality findings accurately to support trend identification and root-cause analysis.
    • Apply updated procedures, job aids, and system enhancements as processes evolve.
    • Provide feedback on tools, templates, and documentation standards to support accuracy and efficiency.
    • Participate in testing and implementation of system updates (e.g., LaserPro Uploader, imaging, or core enhancements) to ensure process changes function as intended.
    • Support change management by adopting new processes, tools, or controls and reinforcing consistent practices across the team.

    Qualifications

    Secondary education in business or related field preferred. One or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position. Experience in banking preferred.
