    LOAN PROCESSING MANAGER

    Mid America Bank is seeking an experienced Loan Processing Manager to lead our Loan Processing Department in Wardsville. This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable loan operations professional to combine technical expertise with people leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
     
    The Loan Processing Manager will lead the department’s people, processes, and systems to support accurate, efficient, and consistent loan processing across the bank.
     
    This is a full-time, benefited position located in our Wardsville branch. The Loan Processing Manager reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
     
    About the Department and Early Priorities
    This manager leads a multi-specialty loan processing team that supports consumer, residential and mortgage, commercial, agricultural, and real estate lending. The team partners closely with lenders and other operational areas to support loans from approval through documentation, closing, booking, and handoff.
     
    During the first 6 to 12 months, the new manager will be expected to:
    • Learn the team’s responsibilities, workload, systems, procedures, strengths, and development needs. 
    • Assess current operations and identify the department’s most important staffing, training, control, and risk priorities.
    • Clarify priorities, service expectations, accountability, and escalation procedures across the department. 
    • Strengthen cross-training, procedure documentation, and departmental reporting.
    • Develop a prioritized departmental action plan and begin addressing the most important operational needs.
    • Build strong working relationships with Lending, Loan Administration, Compliance, Internal Audit, IT, and Operations. 
     
    What You’ll Do
    • Lead, coach, and develop the Loan Processing team.
    • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of loans, renewals, and modifications.
    • Manage departmental workflow, quality standards, and internal controls.
    • Serve as the primary resource for loan processing systems, technology, and reporting.
    • Identify process improvements and implement solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate across the organization to support lending and operational goals.
    • Support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, vendor management, and implementation of procedural changes.
     
    What We’re Looking For
    • At least five years of loan processing, loan operations, or related banking experience
    • Strong understanding of loan processing systems, documentation, controls, and workflow management, along with proficiency in loan software applications and Microsoft Office
    • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience, with the ability to coach employees, establish priorities, and constructively hold others accountable, preferred.
    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered
