We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Loan Coordinator / Mortgage Operations Specialist to join our growing mortgage team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every loan file moves efficiently from application through processing. Work Location: This is an in-person position based in our Wallingford, Connecticut office. Candidates should be available to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue initial loan disclosures accurately and promptly.
- Request and organize documentation from borrowers during the pre-underwriting process.
- Submit TBD (To Be Determined) underwriting approvals when appropriate.
- Coordinate with LOA1 regarding lead intake, file setup, and new loan review.
- Submit complete loan files to the processing department.
- Monitor and oversee the active loan pipeline to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
- Attend weekly pipeline meetings every Tuesday and Thursday to provide file updates and identify potential issues.
- Occasionally assist with pre-qualifying and pre-approving homebuyers.
- Maintain accurate loan records and ensure compliance with company and investor guidelines.
- Provide administrative support to the mortgage team as needed.
- Assist with special projects and operational initiatives to improve workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous mortgage, banking, or real estate industry experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and mortgage loan origination systems (experience with Encompass is a plus).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
