Position SummaryThe Loan assistant will support commercial lenders in all aspects of the loan process. This position will prepare new loan request to submit to loan processing and review file to verify data is complete and meets established standards. Close loans and prepare for booking. Handle telephone inquiries promptly and professionally. Call and collect past due loans and overdrawn accounts. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Order supporting documentationData entry into different loan and CRM programsCorresponds with customers daily during processMaintain and organize lenders appointments and schedule through Microsoft OutlookMaintaining daily loan supportPrepare loan package for closingClose /fund loan when neededInform officer of required documentation for loan renewalsEffectively process loan requests under minimum level of supervision, by obtaining, verifying, completing, and maintaining the necessary loan documentationHandle loan research issues and questionsEnsures all loan documents are complete, accurate and in accordance with policyForward documents to loan ops for scanningCompletes required training as assignedPerforming other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)2 Years Loan Processor or Loan Experience RequiredPost-Secondary education or equivalent work experiencePrevious experience in loan processing, accounting, and servicing strongly desiredComputer proficiency at a mid to expert level in: Microsoft Office programs.Ability to comprehend banking regulation, bank products, services, policies, procedures, and general principles of commercial and consumer creditDemonstrated ability to use various interpersonal styles and communication methods, depending on customer and situation, to gain their acceptance of a product or serviceAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframesStrong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight time constraintsAbility to comprehend legal documentation is required
