Position Summary
The Loading Technician is responsible for safely receiving, transporting, storing, and issuing raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. This position supports production by maintaining inventory accuracy, operating material handling equipment, and following all safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Receive, unload, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Transport materials between receiving, inventory, production, packaging, and shipping areas.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory through proper labeling, ERP transactions, cycle counts, and audits.
- Supply production areas with materials and remove scrap and finished goods as needed.
- Inspect materials for damage or quality issues and report discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow all company safety, quality, Lean, and 6S procedures.
- Cross-train and perform other logistics duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Manufacturing or warehouse experience.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Basic computer and inventory tracking skills.
Preferred
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Lean, 6S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma training.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, moving equipment, and moderate to loud noise while wearing required PPE.
