    Description

    ▪ Directs the activities of the department on assigned shift in order to accurately separate and ship
    product to appropriate destination.
    ▪ Ensures that production orders are filled correctly and distribution of product is completed according
    to schedule.
    ▪ Supervises, trains and directs shipping personnel.
    ▪ Addresses any employee issues and reports complaints/concerns to the proper manager (i.e.
    Department Manager, Plant Manger, West Side Superintendent, HR Manager)
    ▪ Monitors employee performance on a daily basis by doing frequent walk- throughs of the work area
    and reviewing related work.
    ▪ Participates in the disciplinary process by issuing corrective actions in accordance with the union
    contract and other related company policies & procedures and communicating with the appropriate
    contacts (i.e. Department Head, Superintendent, HR Manager).
    ▪ Makes adjustments in personnel assignments to cover absenteeism and emergencies. Notes employee
    absences & latenesses in the computer.
    ▪ Meets with previous supervisors to communicate any issues from the prior shift.
    ▪ Contacts customers immediately upon knowing product will be late or orders cut.
    ▪ Maintains Supervisor’s log to account for all activities on the shift.
    ▪ Keeps product staging areas and lanes organized.
    ▪ Removes out-of-code product from the floor (requires constant checking of date and price codes).
    ▪ Keeps the floor areas clean and organized (includes Bond St. Platform, private label dock, D-Center
    loading area, empty tray area).
    ▪ Completes paperwork (load sheets, block sheets) with accuracy and neatness.
    ▪ Performs trailer checks, includes sweeping and checking for damage. Documents information and
    submits to transportation department.
    ▪ Monitors the floor inventory of empty trays and other equipment to ensure ample supply.
