    Job Summary

    The Material Handler is responsible for safely and accurately moving, storing, receiving, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This position supports production by maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are available when needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Receive, identify, store, issue, and distribute materials and equipment.
    • Accurately count inventory and complete computer system entries and documentation.
    • Tag, prepare, and route shipments using designated carriers.
    • Pull and stage parts for work orders and production needs.
    • Perform cycle counts and replenish stock.
    • Store materials and finished goods in designated locations.
    • Safely operate a forklift after completing required certification or training.
    • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and team members.
    • Maintain dependable attendance to support production schedules.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least 2 years of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with inventory management or warehouse systems.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems is a strong advantage.
    • Previous forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
    • Ability to accurately count inventory and complete computer-based system entries.
    • Ability to learn and identify parts, materials, and equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
    • Ability to follow work orders, safety instructions, and established procedures.
    • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds.
    • Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.

    Shift Hours and Overtime

    • First shift: 5:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
    • Overtime is scheduled as needed.
    • Overtime is usually voluntary but may occasionally be mandatory. Employees must be available to work required overtime.

    Additional Information

    • This position works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, smoke, and fumes typical of the industry.
    • Advanced knowledge of inventory control and cycle-counting processes is preferred.
