House Manager / Family Assistant — Twin Infants
Full-Time | Live-In | Columbus & Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Position Overview
A private family in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive House Manager / Family Assistant to oversee the day-to-day organization and operation of their household while providing attentive care for twin infant daughters. The family divides its time between residences in Columbus and Oconomowoc, and the position follows the family between both homes. Flexibility and a willingness to live and work at each location are essential.
The primary focus of this role is household management: keeping the home organized, anticipating the family's needs, coordinating daily logistics, and ensuring household responsibilities are handled efficiently and consistently. Responsibilities include household organization, laundry, meal preparation, errands, supply management, coordination of service providers, and preparing the residences when the family transitions between homes.
Alongside these responsibilities, the House Manager / Family Assistant will provide hands-on care for the twin infants, working collaboratively with a live-in au pair who shares childcare coverage and certain household responsibilities. This position requires someone who can balance household leadership with attentive infant care, taking primary responsibility for household organization while serving as a primary caregiver for the children during their scheduled coverage. A professional cleaning service is also in place.
The ideal candidate is self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of household operations without needing constant direction. They notice what needs to be done, plan ahead, establish effective systems, and follow through on responsibilities. They also bring a warm, patient, and calm presence to infant care.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating a well-organized, smoothly functioning home and enjoys supporting a family's day-to-day life. The family maintains residences in a small-town setting rather than an urban environment, and Wisconsin winters can be demanding, so candidates should be comfortable with both.
