Location: Irvine Spectrum Area (Fully On-Site)

Compensation: $33 - $40/hr
Our client, a growing and dynamic legal team in the Irvine Spectrum area, is seeking a Litigation Practice Assistant for a contract assignment supporting attorneys and litigation staff across all phases of civil litigation. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can step in quickly, provide immediate support, and thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
File documents electronically in state and federal courts while monitoring and tracking key deadlines
Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court appearances, depositions, mediations, and client meetings
Coordinate service of process, filings, and document production
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
Assist with discovery, trial preparation, exhibit management, and document review
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors
Track deadlines to ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and email
Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of litigation legal assistant or practice assistant experience preferred
Working knowledge of California state court filing procedures; federal court experience is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with legal document management or case management systems preferred
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service
