Job DetailsA well-established Florida plaintiff-side litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Palm Beach Gardens team.
The firm handles sophisticated litigation involving medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, nursing home abuse and neglect, mass torts, trucking accidents, insurance bad faith and other complex civil matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience and the ability to independently manage the day-to-day needs of complex cases while working closely with attorneys, clients, experts and other members of the legal team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation files from pre-suit through settlement and/or trial
- Assist attorneys with case preparation and litigation strategy
- Coordinate and maintain case files, deadlines and calendars
- Obtain, organize and analyze medical records and other case documentation
- Prepare medical chronologies and summaries
- Assist with discovery, including drafting, organizing and responding to discovery requests
- Assist with deposition preparation and coordination
- Coordinate with clients, medical providers, experts and other third parties
- Assist with trial preparation, exhibits and other trial-related materials
- Prepare demand packages and settlement-related documentation
- Conduct legal research and assist with document preparation
- Handle e-filing and other court-related filings
- Maintain accurate and organized case records
- Communicate regularly with attorneys and clients regarding case status and deadlines
- Perform other litigation-related duties as needed
Ideal Background:
- + 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred
- Plaintiff-side personal injury, medical malpractice, catastrophic injury or nursing home litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of the litigation process from pre-suit through trial
- Experience reviewing and organizing medical records preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with attorneys and other legal professionals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management systems
- Litify or comparable litigation case-management experience is a plus
