Job Details

A well-established Fort Lauderdale litigation firm is seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join its team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of personal injury litigation experience and be comfortable supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, including discovery, depositions, mediations and trial preparation.

This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys substantive litigation work and takes ownership of deadlines and case details.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and organize personal injury litigation files from inception through resolution and trial
  • Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence and other legal documents
  • Prepare and coordinate discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production and requests for admissions
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations and other litigation events
  • Maintain litigation calendars and monitor critical deadlines
  • Obtain, organize and review medical records and medical billing
  • Prepare medical record and deposition summaries
  • Assist with expert witness coordination and case preparation
  • Prepare exhibits, deposition materials, mediation materials and trial binders
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation and courtroom logistics
  • Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel and other parties
  • E-file pleadings and other court documents
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files
  • Conduct factual and legal research as needed
  • Track case status and provide attorneys with timely updates
  • Handle multiple cases and competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of personal injury litigation paralegal experience
  • Strong preference for plaintiff-side personal injury experience
  • Experience supporting cases through litigation, with trial experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Florida court filing procedures
  • Strong discovery experience
  • Experience with depositions, subpoenas, hearings and mediations
  • Experience reviewing and organizing medical records and billing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Strong computer and legal technology skills
  • Professional, dependable and team-oriented
