A leading law firm located in the Galleria area of Houston is currently seeking a Legal Secretary to support its Litigation practice in the Houston office. This position provides secretarial and administrative assistance to attorneys in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Candidates will be supporting a docket of labor & employment cases. This firm offers a hybrid schedule, paid parking, full benefits, and bonus potential. Candidates MUST have dictation/transcription experience. Responsibilities
Prepare and edit legal documents, maintain files, and assist with client billing
Input time entries, file electronic court documents, prepare pleadings, and process mail
Interact professionally with clients both in person and over the phone
Arrange travel and process expense reimbursements
Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Perform both ongoing and ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed
Take on additional duties as required to meet departmental needs
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in a mid to large-sized law firm
Proficient in legal secretarial tasks including document preparation, transcription from dictation, filing, time entry, travel coordination, and calendar management
Knowledge of state and federal court rules
Capable of supporting attorneys in multiple practice groups and managing a multi-attorney desk
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook (including use of styles and pleading templates), Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong typing skills, including transcription from dictation
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
