In this role, you’ll help drive litigation forward in federal and state courts, partnering with attorneys from initial case assessment through trial.
This opportunity is ideal for a proactive professional who combines strong technical skills with sound judgment, takes ownership of critical details, and enjoys making a meaningful contribution to case strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
Support attorneys in managing defense litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout the case lifecycle.
Prepare, format, proofread, and electronically file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents in accordance with applicable rules and deadlines.
Manage federal and state e-filing submissions, confirm acceptance, and maintain accurate filing records.
Monitor court dockets, track case developments, and maintain litigation calendars, including filing deadlines, discovery schedules, hearings, and trial dates.
Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, organization, production, and tracking of responses.
Assist with deposition preparation by organizing exhibits, scheduling participants, and summarizing testimony.
Conduct legal and factual research, prepare case chronologies, and organize materials to support attorney analysis.
Prepare hearing and trial materials, including exhibit lists, witness files, trial binders, and supporting documentation.
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal legal teams.
Maintain organized case files, protect confidential information, and provide timely updates on assignments and case milestones.
Qualifications
3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including support for defense matters in federal and state courts.
Demonstrated experience with electronic filing systems, including federal CM/ECF and applicable state court platforms, or equivalent systems.
Strong knowledge of federal and state court procedures, filing requirements, service rules, and litigation deadlines.
Experience supporting discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearing or trial preparation.
Excellent proofreading, writing, research, and document-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively with attorneys and other legal professionals.
Proficiency with legal case-management software, document-management platforms, Microsoft Office, and PDF editing tools, or equivalent technology.
Professional discretion, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
Paralegal certificate or relevant degree preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
