A well-established and highly respected law firm in Waxahachie, Texas is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice. Position Overview

The Legal Assistant will support 2-3 attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
  • Manage court filings, including e-filing
  • Maintain attorney calendars and litigation deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and outside parties
  • Assist with case file organization and management
  • Research and gather information relevant to active matters
  • Handle incoming mail, telephone calls, and additional office support duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Legal Assistant experience in a law firm
  • Litigation experience required
  • Civil litigation and/or construction law experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Experience with e-filing and document preparation
  • Strong transcription skills preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Professional, dependable, and highly organized

Work Environment

  • Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
