Litigation Associate — Insurance Defense Location: Dallas, TX Position: Hybrid Experience Level: 1-5 Years
About the Role A well-established Dallas litigation firm is looking for a motivated junior to mid-level associate ready to take on real responsibility from day one. This is not a document review role — you will be handling active litigation files, taking depositions, and working directly with partners and clients on case strategy. If you are billing 200+ hours a month at a volume shop and not getting the experience or compensation to match, this is worth a conversation.
What You Will Do
- Handle your own active litigation docket in GL, auto, premises, and transportation defense matters
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses
- Draft motions including summary judgment, motions in limine, and discovery motions
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials alongside experienced trial attorneys
- Work directly with carriers and adjusters on case strategy and exposure evaluations
- Receive hands-on mentorship from partners who are invested in your development
What We Are Looking For
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Texas Bar license in good standing
- 1-5 years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
- Some deposition experience — whether taking or defending
- Strong writer with practical judgment
- Motivated to grow — not just manage a docket
