Litigation Associate (Attorney)

We are working with an established, growing international law firm seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office as part of the continued expansion of its U.S. platform and West Coast presence.This opportunity is ideal for a California-admitted attorney with at least two years of sophisticated litigation experience who is looking for substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and exposure to a broad range of complex insurance and commercial litigation matters from an early stage in their career.The associate will work closely with experienced attorneys on a diverse mix of matters that may include insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, complex business disputes, cyber and professional liability claims, product liability, aviation, transportation, energy, toxic torts, marine and admiralty matters, event cancellation and nonappearance claims, and other high-exposure commercial litigation matters.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking both depth and breadth of litigation experience within a collaborative, internationally connected platform.ResponsibilitiesDraft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, coverage analyses, litigation reports, and client correspondenceConduct legal research and prepare memoranda addressing insurance coverage, bad faith, and commercial litigation issuesTake and defend depositionsAttend court appearances, hearings, and mediationsAssist with case strategy, motion practice, and overall litigation managementCommunicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and reportingManage assigned matters proactively and efficientlyCollaborate closely with partners and colleagues across a broad range of litigation mattersQualificationsAdmission to the California Bar requiredAt least two years of litigation experience at a law firmStrong experience with drafting, discovery, legal research, motion practice, and depositionsInsurance coverage or insurance defense experience strongly preferred, although the firm is willing to train a candidate with strong litigation experience who is interested in doing coverage workExcellent analytical, writing, and communication skillsAbility to manage complex factual and legal issues in a practical and commercially focused mannerStrong client service orientation and professional judgment under pressureSophisticated civil litigation experience preferredExposure to London market or international insurer work is a plusTrial experience is beneficial, but not requiredOpportunity HighlightsSignificant client exposure and hands‑on responsibility from the outsetOpportunity to work directly with senior attorneys helping to grow the firm's West Coast practiceExposure to both domestic and international insurance‑related mattersCollaborative and team‑oriented culture with strong mentorshipOpportunity to develop broad litigation experience across numerous industries and coverage areasCompetitive compensation and benefits packageCompensationExpected base salary range: approximately $140,000 to $200,000, depending on experience level and qualifications.To be considered, please provide a resume and writing sample (preferably not edited by others).
