### Litigation Associate | Birmingham, AL

A respected Birmingham law firm is seeking a **Litigation Associate** to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to build a long-term career in **commercial and business litigation** while working closely with experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.

The firm's practice focuses heavily on **commercial and business disputes**, representing businesses, individuals and organizations in a wide variety of complex matters.

The ideal candidate will have existing litigation experience and be comfortable with the fundamentals of working up a case, including discovery, legal research, drafting, case strategy and litigation preparation. The attorney will work under the supervision of senior attorneys while taking increasing ownership of their matters.

### Responsibilities

* Assist with commercial, business and civil litigation matters
* Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions and legal memoranda
* Participate in discovery, including document review, written discovery and discovery strategy
* Assist with depositions, hearings, mediations and trial preparation
* Analyze factual and legal issues and help develop case strategy
* Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and other parties as appropriate
* Assist senior attorneys with all phases of litigation
* Manage assigned projects and deadlines effectively
* Develop increasing responsibility for assigned matters

### Qualifications

* J.D. from an accredited law school
* Active Alabama Bar admission
* Prior litigation experience
* Strong legal research and writing skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organization
* Strong communication and analytical abilities
* Ability to work independently while also collaborating with senior attorneys

### Experience That Could Be a Fit
