Position Summary:
Hudson Lab Automation is seeking a full-time Liquid Handling Systems Technician (Assembly, Calibration & Service) to become an integral part of our team! You will perform liquid handler head repairs and rebuilds as well as building service spare part kits.
Multi-channel liquid handler heads are critical components of automated laboratory instruments that precisely transfer liquids across multiple samples at the same time. These assemblies combine mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components to support accurate, repeatable liquid handling in research, diagnostic, and life science applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate liquid handler head refurbishment program ensuring head availability to meet the required demand.
- Rebuild/repair liquid handler heads.
- Build service spares modules.
- Test spare parts before shipment.
- Perform calibration on liquid handler heads.
- Conduct quality inspections on products and parts.
- Prepare finished products for shipment.
- Prepare parts for final shipment.
- Pull kits from Inventory.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or other related fields.
- Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of voltmeter operation and ability to test circuits.
- Handle physical workload (lift 40 pounds safely and consistently).
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Sufficient visual acuity to inspect small parts, wiring, and mechanical assemblies.
- Work well in teams.
