Mechanic Line Setup

- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
- $18/hr

What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain plant production equipment.
- Inspect and document equipment condition and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Assist with equipment setup and optimize process parameters for peak productivity.
- Help train other mechanics and improve overall technical knowledge within the plant.
- Provide input on new job setups and special equipment designs.
- Build jigs, fixtures, and special machines to improve production efficiency.
- Read and understand machine schematics, diagrams, and technical materials to identify root causes and complete repairs.
- Properly size and install line utilities for machines to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Follow all plant safety policies and sound maintenance practices, including equipment guarding and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Assist with special projects, including new equipment and process installations.
- Support the Plant Engineer and Engineering Manager as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematics, and diagrams.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as VOM meters.
- Proficiency with hand tools and shop equipment, including lathes and milling machines.
- Good understanding of safe maintenance practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Qualifications
- 1–2 year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in a production environment in a similar position.
- A 2-year degree in engineering or technology is preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience repairing packaging machines or similar production equipment is preferred.
