Description

The Line Service Supervisor's key function is to assist in a leadership role over the day-to-day operations of Line Service to ensure that consistent direction of the team and general oversight is provided in order to maintain the required levels of safety, customer service experience, communication, and positive working environment in accordance with the standards set by Hill Aircraft.Position Summary:The Line Service Supervisor (LSS) serves in an important lead by example position within the Line Service Department when working alongside his or her team members. The LSS represents Hill Aircraft in a positive and professional manner, while upholding a high standard of personal character, work ethic, and integrity. The LSS promotes a positive and harmonious working environment with their team. The LSS is outgoing and personable with the ability to connect with customers and offer a high level of customer service experience. The LSS will support the operations of the Line Service by anticipating and exceeding the expectations of the customer, coordinating tasks of the Line Service Technicians providing aircraft services, and ensuring company policies and safety regulations are implemented on each shift. The LSS provides essential and ongoing communication and feedback regarding the overall management of the shifts, including staffing and scheduling needs, on-the-job training, employee performance, and resources needed to get the job done in the most efficient and effective manner possible.Direct Reports: Line Service TechniciansPrimary Responsibilities:In addition to performing all the general functions of the LST position in coordination with team members, including towing, fueling, marshaling, wing-walking, baggage handling, greeting customers, and other related ground support activities, the LSS will:Lead the Line Service shifts in alignment with the overall goals, values, standards, and expectations of Hill Aircraft and its customers. Ensure all operations are consistently conducted on time in accordance with the highest values and standards of Hill Aircraft that contribute to safety, company policies, and procedures while also adhering to the NATA Safety 1st guidelines and industry best practices.Promote a positive and harmonious working environment, unity, and cooperation with the team to provide the highest levels of customer service experience.Be the go-to lead for communication from team members on shift.Head safety briefings and meetings with teammembers.Provide oversight for the overall operations of the flight line within established operating procedures on a given shift to ensure those operations are completed correctly and thoroughly.Delegate and assign duties to qualified team members, monitor their progress, and assess results.Respond to team member questions during shifts needing to be addressed and communicate with leadership on those questions where further guidance is needed.Assist in the training and development of team members, both new and recurrent, using the PLST NATA Safety 1st guidelines and schedule format, and Hill Aircraft training sign-off procedures.Ensure shifts are covered and adequately staffed to standards with appropriate qualified team members.Represent as shift hand-off lead between shifts for smooth transfer.Communicate regularly with company leadership on work progress, roadblocks or issues that arise, resources needed to perform better, supply inventory items needing to be ordered when low, or corrective actions needed of personnel.Participate with leadership on disciplinary discussions if necessary of team members.Coordinate team members to plan and anticipate the demands of the shift and customer requests to prevent mistakes or accidents and avoid rush through tasks. Ensure team members follow proper dress codes and grooming requirements while on shift.Coordinate ramp-parking schedules for smooth arrival and departure operations, as well as efficient hangar stacking needs.Track and maintain fuel records and related daily paperwork, including the inventory and transfer of fuel at the fuel farm, as well as communication to leadership of levels for fuel ordering needs.Verify all inspections, paperwork, and reports as required are accurately completed. Carry out detail-oriented responsibilities such as making sure fuel trucks are continuously stocked and prepared to deliver fuel to aircraft, performing quality control procedures on fuel delivered, and reporting visible damage on aircraft before towing to the pilot or owner after thorough walk-around before moving.Ensure that all equipment, operational areas, line shack, and terminal lobby areas that customers utilize are continuously organized, clean, litter-free, and safe.Oversee that all additional shift duties and assigned tasks are completed thoroughly and that any checklists accompanied are filled out before the end of the shift.Provide leadership with ideas and recommendations that help to improve the overall operations, efficiency, and standards of Line Service.General Qualifications | Knowledge & Experience:Minimum of 5-years of Line Service operations experience with an FBOPrior Line Service Supervisor or higher level leadership in Line Operations preferredCurrent PLST NATA Safety 1st Certifications Superb knowledge of aviation terminology, general aviation aircraft (piston and turbine), airport ground communications, and ramp management.Proficient level in all areas of Line Service operations, being able to perform and to thoroughly teach others. This position requires working flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends, and scheduled company holidays to accommodate the needs of the customers and department operations.Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Hill Aircraft is a Zero Tolerance Drug Free Employer, including pre-employment and random drug screening.Operation of motor vehicles and heavy equipment, including fuel trucks and tugs.Ability to handle moderate to heavy physical activity outside on ramp operations.Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as fueling equipment, tow bars, tow heads, and baggage handling.Ability to travel for the position if needed (infrequent).Environment & Work Conditions: The work environment or conditions described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position and may vary on a given day depending on needs.
