Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Shiraz recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
- Read and follow tickets accurately during service
- Set up, stock, and maintain your station before, during, and after service
- Weigh, measure, cut, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipe specifications
- Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, marinades, rice, sides, and other menu items as directed
- Cook and plate dishes with attention to quality, timing, portioning, and presentation
- Follow prep lists and complete assigned prep tasks
- Maintain proper food rotation, labeling, dating, storage, and freshness standards
- Keep your workstation clean, organized, stocked, and sanitary throughout the shift
- Follow all food safety, handwashing, hygiene, allergy, and sanitation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
- Communicate food, supply, or equipment shortages to the Chef, Manager, or shift lead
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed
- Restock or break down your station depending on the shift
- Communicate clearly with the next shift or team members as needed
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment
- Support other kitchen team members when needed
Qualifications:
- Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred
- Persian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, steakhouse, grill, or high-volume restaurant experience is a plus
- Ability to work quickly and with a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to follow recipes, directions, tickets, and kitchen standards
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Able to stay organized and focused under pressure
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to bend, lift, carry, push, and move items as needed
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs when necessary
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- California Food Handler Card
