Job Overview:
A fine dining line cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, upscale kitchen. You’ll work closely with chefs to execute menu items to exact standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your station.
- Follow strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with prep work (cutting, portioning, sauces, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff during service.
- Ensure proper plating and portion control.
- Help manage inventory and minimize waste.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a fine dining or high-volume kitchen preferred.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.
- Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with classical techniques (French cuisine, sauces, plating).
- Culinary school training (optional but beneficial).
