Line Cook

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items efficiently while maintaining Midway Diner's standards for quality, consistency, food safety, and cleanliness. This role works as part of a fast-paced kitchen team to ensure every guest receives a great meal promptly. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards. 
• Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station before, during, and after service. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times. 
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper portioning. 
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and Expo during service. 
• Monitor product quality and notify managers of low inventory or equipment issues 
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines. 
• Assist with prep work, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as assigned. 

Skills & Knowledge 

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong attention to detail and organization. 
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. 
• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively. 
• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to learn. 

Physical Requirements 

• Stand and walk for extended periods. 
• Lift up to 50 pounds. 
• Work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment. 
• Bend, reach, and safely operate kitchen equipment.
