    Overview:

    The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking Line Cooks to join our Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will focus on preparing and producing high-quality food in an efficient and consistent manner while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.     Responsibilities:

    Essential Responsibilities & Duties

    • Prepare and assist with menu items as directed by the Chef

    • Follow all safe food handling guidelines and cooking procedures

    • Stock and maintain appropriate food levels at line stations to ensure smooth service

    • Communicate and coordinate with cooks, servers, and other team members

    • Monitor food quality by tasting, smelling, and using proper temperature checks

    • Plate and portion food according to presentation standards

    • Measure and prepare ingredients following recipes and prep lists

    • Label, date, and properly rotate all food items

    • Operate and regulate kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, broilers, etc.)

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment and work areas

    • Follow all health and sanitation regulations

    • Clean workstations, including tables, walls, refrigerators, and surfaces

    • Complete closing duties including cleaning, sanitation, and organizing kitchen and storage areas

    • Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries

    Qualifications:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • High School Diploma or GED preferred

    • ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

    • Minimum of 6 months of kitchen or food preparation experience preferred

    • Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations

    • Strong knife skills and familiarity with common cooking techniques preferred

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

    • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holiday
